Elsie Helvig
Born out in the forest surrounding the village, Elsie is more at home among the trees than the cobblestone streets of Pumpkin Hollow proper. In her formative years the young girl knew only the woods and her mother, not even laying eyes on another person until she was nearly seven or eight years old. The appearance of people in the forest was always met with fear, the constant lesson from her mother that these people should be avoided at all costs. However the boughs of the trees couldn't shelter them forever and now that Elsie's existence was known she was sometimes brought into the village by her mother to help sell what meager goods they could find or make.
As the situation on the island worsened, Elsie and her mother weren't seen for a long while. The forest became increasingly hostile and some villagers speculated they may have met their fate there. However recently a young woman has been spotted at the fairy tree bearing her name, and there are whispers that Elsie's been seen in the village itself, darting between shadows before scampering off again. There's a rumor now that something else wears Elsie's face, yet another horror combined with the many that ravage the island. Or perhaps it might be Elsie herself. No one is quite sure yet...

appearance
Elsie lives out in the forest and most of the time she brings part of it with her in the form of twigs and leaves tangled into her wild, nearly white hair. Her clothes are well worn and mended with patches from cloth scraps of all colors and textures. She's often without shoes, even out in the forest, but when she does don a pair they are mismatched and ill-fitting. Both her hands and feet bear heavy callouses and are often dirty with muck.
